Greetings and Mission Statement

Hey everybody,

After the events of Fling 2013, there’s been a lot of fear and uncertainty regarding the actions of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) and the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement (BLCE).  Penn administrators, at least as far as their public presence is concerned, would like you to believe that they are handcuffed, and that you, by proxy, are also without rights, even going so far as to claim that "[The BLCE] really has a blanket authority throughout Pennsylvania to do anything they want."  This is both untrue, and irresponsible.

This blog exists to provide you with a clear response plan to the BLCE and their possible tactics towards Flingers.   We have researched relevant court cases and legal precedent in the state of Pennsylvania as to help you preserve the sanctity of your home and its occupants throughout this upcoming weekend, as well as for future, non-Fling parties.

We should add a disclaimer, we are students attempting to assemble publicly available information in a logically sound and legally consistent manner. We are not lawyers, and not providing you with legal counsel. We are providing you with recommendations based on our research and our discussions with professors and experts. We are working to help you have a good time at Fling and protect yourselves; we seek to provide you with a resource that is sorely lacking. In light of that, it'd be a huge dick move to sue us if somehow something went awry during this coming weekend.

We believe that Spring Fling and the culture that surrounds it is central to the Penn experience.  As adults, all of you have the right to enjoy Fling and make your own decisions, without bullying and misinformation from the state of Pennsylvania.

Cheers,

BW & TR
